Feb. 6th, 2006 10:03 pmIt's a bit of a blustery winter's day, in London. Tonks had wanted to perhaps bring Anthony and Sunny along with her and Raven, but it's chilly enough that she thought it best that they stay at home with their dad and be cozy by the fire.
"'Ere we are," Tonks announces, pulling Raven out the back entrance of the Leaky Cauldron and adjusting the black and yellow scarf over her chin. "Diagon Alley, in all its splendour."

It had to be owls, didn't it?

Date: 2006-02-07 03:58 am (UTC)"Not when there are many, I think. Hopefully they are busy."
The barn owl watches back, then flutters its wings sharply.
It is possible this is the equivalent of a sniff.
Raven grins.
"It is a good sign, that."

"There was candy before, I think. Also mention of jokes?"
Raven is easy. Sometimes this is regrettable.

He does not sound displeased.
"Though I would think it is heavy, yes?"

"Or possibly that is gravity, and rocks."

Date: 2006-02-07 04:32 am (UTC)"Well. What'll you have?"
The menu is... exensive.

Date: 2006-02-07 04:42 am (UTC)Or at least, he's looking at it very carefully.
"There is no eyeball flavor?"
And, it appears, no bear fat, either.
Alas, both of his staples are not present.
"Chocolate cherry pecan ripple, then."

Date: 2006-02-07 04:44 am (UTC)Tonks steps up and places the order, and a few moments later returns to Raven and hands him a Very Very Large Cone.
We're talking volcanic, in its proportions.
"I stole a bite," she announces.

Date: 2006-02-07 04:50 am (UTC)His lip wobbles.
This is apparently his woebegone expression.
It is not a laughing matter.
"Better than stealing the whole thing, perhaps."

Date: 2006-02-07 04:56 am (UTC)"Go on, then," she says cheerfully. "It's good."
no subject
Date: 2006-02-07 05:08 am (UTC)He is very careful not to take the whole cone. Then he tilts his head, frowning in thought.
"You are right, I think. Though it is not so crunchy."
It might be that he was thinking pumpkin seeds, as well.

Date: 2006-02-07 05:09 am (UTC)Tonks leads the way back out into the cold, though srangely, the ice cream does not worsen that effect.
Magic really is bloody brilliant.
"You and Sunny should start a club."

Date: 2006-02-07 05:15 am (UTC)"She would be a good President, I think. Also Vice President. And Secretary."
This, of course, means Raven is left with Treasurer.
For obvious reasons.

"Glittering is very demanding, I think. Also it would be a shameful thing to neglect."

Date: 2006-02-09 02:04 am (UTC)The two of them walk along the narrow streets for a while, peering in the shop windows and enjoying their ice creams. Finally, they come to a stop at Weasley's Wizard Wheezes.
"Mind your fingers. Never know what's going on in here."

"Also best, perhaps, to watch my nose."

Date: 2006-02-09 02:25 am (UTC)The door swings open and they step inside. As with every Saturday, the shop's crammed full, and Tonks waves over her head at the twins where they're manning the tills.
"Well. Pick your poison," she says, gesturing expansively and then peering over at the nearest display of... blood-squirting vampire fangs. Nice.

Date: 2006-02-09 02:44 am (UTC)They are apparently very tiny ducks.
Very tiny, very explosive ducks.
And next to them, of course, is a small pile of sugar cubes.
This is possibly suspicious.

Date: 2006-02-09 02:48 am (UTC)"...I probably don't even wanna know."
Then she wanders in the direction of the firecrackers. "I've got a list from Bernard," Tonks explains, rolling her eyes and grinning a bit.

Date: 2006-02-09 03:11 am (UTC)If he has also picked up one of the ducks and a few of the sugar cubes, it is incidental.
Really.
"They are large enough?"
He looks vaguely doubtful.
