Nymphadora stands at the dining room table, digging through her bag. "Wand," she mutters, "shopping list, snack and juice for Sunny, wallet... yes. We're set." Then she raises her voice. "Sunshine! Are you ready to go?"

"Here she is." Bernard comes out of the hallway with Sunny in his arms. She's got a very, very pretty dress on; it's a special trip.

"Now, you be good for your mum, munchkin."

"A'ways good," she insists.

Aha. AHAHAH. Right.

"Lil' angel. Haf wings."

She wanted to wear them.

Dora grins and takes Sunny from Bernard, kissing her cheek. "Yes, you're a veritable saint. Now," she continues, her expression sobering somewhat. "What's the most important thing for you to remember today?"

Bernard facepalms.

"That's a good rule. But I think your mum was going for, 'Hold Mummy's hand all the time.'"

"Knew that!" Offended!Sunny. With Hurt Face Action thrown in free!

Right.

"Well, good. Glad we've got that sorted, then."

Nymphadora puts Sunny down and slings her bag over her shoulder before leaning over to kiss Bernard. "We'll be back later this afternoon. Have a good day, love."

Bernard kisses his wife again, and leans over to kiss Sunny's cheek.

"You, too. Have fun."

"Bwing Ber'd pwesent," she promises.

It might be, like. A pinecone.

But she will THOUGHTFULLY pick out that pinecone.

Snickering, Nymphadora waves to Bernard (and Ellie, who has poked her head curiously around the kitchen door), and leads Sunny out the front door.

"Okay, so. You need shoes, because we can't seem to keep you in them. That's the Big Goal for today."

"Shoes," she repeats obediently, seriously.

They arrive at the bar's main door, and Nymphadora opens it, carefully looking both ways before pulling her daughter out onto Charing Cross Road.

She tries not to think too much about the possibility of reporters. Because really, why should they be interested, now? She and Bernard have sent a letter with the facts, so they've nothing more to worry about. Yes.

"So we're going to a place called Oxford Street," Dora explains, tucking her pink hair behind one ear as the wind whips it across her face.

"Offowd Stweet," still repeating, looking about curiously.

Sunny is Excited!

"Get eyecweam?"

A grin down at the toddler. "I reckon we can fit it into our busy schedule."

The two of them walk a few blocks, past the Leaky Cauldron, and turn left onto Oxford Street. There are shops as far as the eye can see, and red double decker buses, and lots of vendor's carts selling good-smelling things.

Which is why that pole back there has teethmarks in it now.

Dora facepalms, trying not to think too much about germs. This kid will have the best immune system ever, in a few years.

"Right, why don't we try Marks & Spencer, first? They've lots of nice things. It's a great big department store, loads of fun."

Another half-block or so, and they're there. She holds the door open. "After you, milady."

"Uh-huh. Okay." Dora examines the directory, and then pulls Sunny over to the escalator. "All right, watch your step."

Sunny clings a little.

She's a brave beaver baby!

But it still EATS itself!

The escalator of Dooooooom is conquered, and the shoe department found. "Now, let's see. We've got some choices, here. Do you want shoes with laces, that your dad and I have to help you with, or would you rather velcro or slip-ons that you can do all on your own?"

"Something we can help you with today, ladies?"

A charming voice comes from behind them, and Nymphadora turns, smiling at the salesman. "Yes, please. We're in the market for some slip-on shoes for my daughter. Sunshine, have you got a colour preference?"
