Tonks loves - loves - 'The Sound Of Music'. Not in and of itself, precisely, but because it's one of the videos she used to have as a kid, and it's a type of security blanket.
Her favourite song is the yodelling goat-herd one, and the Nazis, more than being just plain scary, which they were, creeped her out on a level she was never quite able to fully explain.
Tonks was never clumsy until she hit puberty and started feeling wildly uncomfortable in a body that for the first time was changing despite what she wanted it to do. Becoming clumsy was the result of not feeling in control of her own body the way her metamorphing had previously let her be.
The clumsiness has lingered, as has the tendency to wear faces that aren't hers. But these days, now that she's pregnant and married to Bernard, there are times when Tonks moves with a gracefulness that ballerinas would envy. There are also still times when she trips on flat surfaces, but fewer and fewer of them.
Nymphadora dreamed, as a young child, of being like Cinderella - beautifully dressed, dainty, and saved by the prince. She watched the movie whenever she could and drew pictures of herself as Cinderella.
One day when she was about 8 she suddenly realized the whole dainty, helpless thing was bollocks and never watched Cinderella again.
