Dec. 7th, 2005 02:09 pmOne corner of the living room has been cleared, and a lovely blue fir has taken up residence in the spot.
'Dora stands before it with her wand raised, a speculative look on her face.
She always has a hard time deciding what colour the fairy lights should be. And, in the end, always goes with a little of everything.

Date: 2005-12-07 09:01 pm (UTC)Are you surprised?
(Be grateful, Dora, that you've got the pup and not the mun at her first Christmas. Climbing a tree isn't as bad as making a ladder of presents and trying to fling yourself into it, right?)

Date: 2005-12-07 09:05 pm (UTC)...Although Bernard taking the tree out back and blowing it up, post-ruination, would be pretty damn funny.
"I think so, too," she says confidently, and adds a fair few more.
They're all the colours of the rainbow, and seem to catch the light unnaturally, sparkling and twinkling of their own accord.

"Magic," Sunny sighs.
She doesn't mean how they appeared. Just. The pretties.

Date: 2005-12-08 01:20 am (UTC)"Up you get, then." 'Dora helps Sunny clamber up onto the sofa (to avoid the dreaded bending over) and then scoops the toddler up into her arms. "Here, put your hand on mine," she instructs, putting Sunny's tiny hand around her own where it grasps the wand. "Wave it with me now, ready--"
And as the wand waves, a shower of silver stars explodes from the wand-tip, and come together to form one big star that seems to hover atop the tree.

Christmas in the House of Arch is a time for intense decoration, you know. I'm nearly blinded by the tinsel as I pass from room to room."

"I dunno, it grows on you, I suppose. I even have my own tree in my study. Decorated in Slytherin colors, of course. And the finest glass twining serpents you've ever seen."
