"Bernard, it'll be fine. I Apparated Crowley home from Iraq that one time, didn't I?"

Nymphadora raises an eyebrow at her husband, expectant.

Down at the alley's opening, the traffic of Charing Cross Road whizzes merrily by, and the sidewalks are filled with people out soaking up the bright afternoon sunshine.

Has he got everything? He thinks he has everything. Yes.

Bernard stands and holds out a hand. "Well?"

She puts her hand in his, and stands too -- but not before taking a healthy swig of tequila.

"This's so weird," she says, as they leave the bar. "I haven' been drunk in, like. A year."

"I know," Bernard replies, walking a little fast, pulling her along. "Las' time was, like... Indy's cocktail party."

A squeak. "Hee! Oh blimey, I nearly forgot about that night. Ripped my dress, you sly dog." Giggling, 'Dora leans in and kisses his cheek as they trip down the path.

Bernard is Shocked! "How could you forget that?! It was fantastic!"

"Nearly! I said nearly! Yes, it was rather good, wasn't it? Hmmm."

She gets a faraway look in her eyes, and slows down.

FOCUS, TONKS. FOCUS.

Bernard slows, too, and snaps his fingers in front of her face. "Hey. No need to daydream, I'm right here, you know."

'Dora jumps. "Right! Right. Onwards an' upwards. Yes."

They continue along the path towards their cabana, and soon they reach the door.

As Bernard fumbles for the key, "Do we hafta check for snakes again? Please tell me no." She perks up. "I could just Banish them!"

Distractedly, "So Banish them. I'll call you St. Patrick for the rest of the night." He manages to get the door open, finally, and they stumble inside. "But do it quick, because I'm not interested in standing around."

Tonks draws herself up to her full height, and casts the Banishing Charm quite impressively.

After a moment, one very irate juvenile garter snake flies out from under the bureau, and out the window into the night.

"...Well! I'm glad I sorted that."

Bernard collapses against the door, giggling.

"That was groovy."

Smugly, "I try." She takes another drink from the bottle, and then sidles over to him. "Soooooo."

He takes the bottle, swigging deeply, his eyes on her the whole time. "So?"

Nymphadora's eyes darken, locked on his, and she presses him up against the door. "You are... God, I can't even tell you."

The flush on Bernard's cheek deepens, and he slips one arm over her shoulder, the bottle hanging limply from his fingertips as his other hand slips under the hem of her tank top. "Try."

Biting her lip, she steps closer still, her hands smoothing over his broad chest. "Don't think I've ever seen anythin' that looks better than you do right now." One finger tilts his jaw up, and Nymphadora leans in, mouthing her way back to his ear.

"'S amazing, still," she murmurs, "that you want me. You. Want me."

Bernard exhales sharply. "Don't want you." Before she can freeze and back away, he turns his face into her hair, his mouth brushing her ear. "Need you. Need you like I need air to breathe an' food to eat. Need to smell you and taste you an' touch you and fuck you. All of it together." Her tongue flickers out to touch his ear, and he moans. "But mostly right now just need to fuck you."

Her eyes slip closed, and her cheeks burn red at his words. "Well, that works out pretty well," she replies in a low voice, kissing his neck, "since right now I mostly just need to be fucked."

Another groan, louder this time, and Bernard pushes off the door, fusing his mouth to hers and dropping the bottle of tequila on the floor with a clunk. He picks her up, his hands biting into her hips, their tongues tangled together, and takes her to the bed.

The two of them tip onto the bed in a tangle of limbs, and Nymphadora breaks the kiss, gasping, in order to unbutton his shirt. "Oh, bugger me why are there so many buttons."

Bernard's hands are busy at the clasp and zipper of her skirt, and the ties fo the bikini bottom below them. "...Did you tie this thing in knots?!"

"Well it has to be able to stay on!" she retorts, giving the buttons up as a bad job temporarily, and refocusing her energies on the zipper of his shorts.

"It also needs to come off, Nymphadora," he grinds out, pulling her shirt over her head and making short work of her bikini top. His mouth is on her breast, tongue scraping over one nipple roughly, and one side of the bikini bottom finally gives way.

Groaning, she arches her back into his touch, and feverishly pulls at the other side of her bottoms. "I'm tryin', I think I must've used glue--"

Frustrated, Bernard sits back on his knees and yanks the bottoms off her, throwing them somewhere in the vicinity of the closet, and takes the opportunity to divest her of her skirt as well. "Fuck it," he murmurs, tonguing up the inside of her thigh.
