"Christ on a sodding bike, Bernard, slow down!"

Nymphadora braces one hand on the dashboard and the other on her husband's arm, her stricken eyes wide and fixedly staring out at the road.

"Knew we should've taken the train. 'It'll be fine, 'Dora, driving's just like falling off a log! You never forget how! It's no big deal!'"

'Dora grumbles in return, curling up into her own ball even more tightly, and yanking the covers over her shoulder.

That, of course, pulls Bernard's warm covers half off him, and he yanks back, then scoots closer to 'Dora, his arm flopping around her waist.

Letting out a sigh, the witch twists around, her arm tucking itself around Bernard's shoulders.

"Hm," she says, not really very awake at all yet.

Bernard's eye creaks open again, and he smiles, then leans forward to press his lips to hers softly. He's not trying to wake her; he just wanted to kiss her.

Automatically 'Dora kisses him back, curling closer with a contented murmur.

Then, "Mm. 'S it mornin."

"Um." He lifts his head to look around, then burrows back in. "Think so. Maybe afternoon," he laughs.

"Tha's okay. No babies. 'S okay."

And with that, she dozes back off.

Still laughing, Bernard kisses her cheek and runs a slow hand up her thigh to her waist and then walks his fingertips up her back to fiddle with her hair.

Half-heartedly, Nymphadora attempts to dislodge his tickling fingers, and then lets her hand fall back onto the covers, subsiding.

She likes it when he plays with her hair.

It seems to twist and coil around his fingers, and he can feel it tangling even more than it was before. He smiles and kisses her eyelid.

A smile curls on 'Dora's lips, too, and she tilts her head to press her mouth to his.

"Hi."

"Hiiiiiiiii," he intones, nuzzling her neck. "You hungry?"

"...Yeah," she replies, after a moment's reflection. "Very. You?"

"Uh-huh." He kisses his way down to her shoulder, nipping gently. "But I figure since you're eating for two you're famished."

"Something like that. Maybe some. Blueberry pancakes. Or."

Suddenly a strange look crosses her features, and Nymphadora pales.

"Or. Um. I'll be back in a second."

In a flurry of covers she scampers out of bed and darts into the bathroom.

"...Ah, shit," Bernard breathes, flopping onto his back for a second before getting up to search for his shorts and her knickers and t-shirt. "Okay?"

"Y-yeah," she gasps, leaning against the cool sink and flushing the toilet. "I've been expecting it."

He walks in, her clothes in hand, and carefully pulls her into a hug. "Me, too. Still freaked me out, though."

"'M sorry, love." Nymphadora hugs him back, tightly, and then draws back to pull on her clothes. "Maybe I should stick to a scone or something, for starters," she adds, reaching for her toothbrush.

"Okay," he replies, reaching for his toothbrush, too, and patting his hair down ineffectively. "We can pick you up some shortbread or some crackers, too."

Toothbrush sticking out of the corner of her mouth, 'Dora walks over to her satchel and pulls out a packet of crackers.

"'Ike I thaid," she says around the toothbrush. "'Ve been 'xpecting id."

Bernard laughs as he puts toothpaste on his brush. "Smartypants." He begins to scrub his teeth, turning to face her and lean against the sink. "Whuh 'oo wadda do today?"

Nymphadora spits out her toothpaste and shrugs consideringly, going back out into the bedroom to lie down, still a bit pale. "Nothing too adventurous."

"'Kay." Bernard finishes up and pads back into the room, crawling back into bed beside her, taking her hand in his. "We could just lie here until you feel like going home," he reasons. "Room service and everything."

"That might be kinda nice," she murmurs, squeezing his hand. "Been a long time since we had a lazy day."
