Nymphadora and Bernard collapse back onto the covers, both covered with a sheen of sweat, and both wearing extremely satisfied smiles.

Stretching langourously, Nymphadora rolls onto her side to press a kiss to her husband's bare shoulder.

"Well. I'm awfully glad I didn't go to sleep early, after all."

Bernard dips his head to capture her lips, slowly savoring the taste of her, the feel of her lips on his.

It's so rare that they kiss in the full dark. When they're fully awake, that is.

Nymphadora hums into his mouth, her thumb stroking across his cheekbone, back and forth.

"I love your mouth," he murmurs against her lips.

"Mmmm. Rather fond of yours, too," she replies, her voice low, barely audible.

He shifts closer, twining his limbs around her and nips at her bottom lip. "Could kiss you all day."

"No complaints from me." She brushes the tip of her nose against his, and then leans in to kiss the corner of his mouth.

"Sometimes I hate being Bound, because all I want to do is run out of the bar and break into the Ministry just so I can kiss you." He lazily runs his mouth down her neck.

"And some days it takes all my self-control not to run home and do that very thing." A grin, as she tilts her head, arching her neck towards him.

"Would it be entirely selfish to say I'm looking forward to your maternity leave?"

"Nope. So'm I. It'll still be busy -- I'll be owling in lots of work -- but I'll be home, with you and Sunny. Brilliant."

"And I'll kiss you whenever I want." His lips on hers again for a long moment. "You'll be sick of me."

"Not possible," she says, leaning her forehead against his. "Never in a million years."

Bernard smiles against her skin and lets out a contented sigh.

"Hey, I was thinking."

"Were you? Do tell."

"Oh, shut up." He grins and squeezes her.

"I was thinking maybe we should be thinking about Sunny going to some kind of preschool or something soon. She's gotta be way more advanced than other kids her age."

Nymphadora nodded thoughtfully against his shoulder. "Yeah, not a bad idea. Where, though? I know there's one at the Ministry, and with kids that young, it doesn't much matter whether they're magical or not."

"They'd probably take the biting through metals thing as magic anyway."

"...True. And that one would be really convenient for me, once I start back to work."

"There a waiting list, at all?"

"Dunno. Might be. I could put her down now, maybe aim to start after the New Year?"

"...Maybe we should ask her about it, first. See if she wants to go."

"Oh, well, of course. But you know how she is. I think she'll love it. Other kids, lots of art, lots of playing. Games and books and things."

"Ahhh, but no Hiss, no Ellie, and no snakes. Also, no mum and dad. That might prove to be our undoing."

"Well. We'll talk to her. She might learn to cope for a few hours each day, at least."

"And you'll be around, some, once you're back from leave."

He's so worried.
