Feb. 6th, 2006 10:03 pmIt's a bit of a blustery winter's day, in London. Tonks had wanted to perhaps bring Anthony and Sunny along with her and Raven, but it's chilly enough that she thought it best that they stay at home with their dad and be cozy by the fire.
"'Ere we are," Tonks announces, pulling Raven out the back entrance of the Leaky Cauldron and adjusting the black and yellow scarf over her chin. "Diagon Alley, in all its splendour."

And, you know, making them explode.
Metaphorically.
Even the things that are probably not meant to.

"Think you mentioned candy, did you not? Honeyduke's has a branch here, just up the street," she says, pointing the way.

There is a tiny blue flipper waving from Raven's pocket.
Then it vanishes.

Date: 2006-02-12 03:54 am (UTC)Honeyduke's is... an assault on the eyes. It's overwhelming in its variety, quality, and quantity of sweets.
And there's nowhere else you'll find things quite as bizarre as some of the stock here.

"It is very bright, I think."
He tilts his head, scanning the place.
Three guesses as to what he's looking for.

Date: 2006-02-16 01:45 am (UTC)Right.
He blinks again, moving toward an enormous display of what seems to be chocolate.
And then, of course, he sees the eyeballs. Jelly eyeballs, and gumball eyes, and sugar eyeballs on rings, and bracelets, and what seem to be eyeballs bobbing in glass jars.
Interesting.

"Though I do not think it is big enough."

Date: 2006-02-18 03:03 am (UTC)"Oh please. Yes. Tell them that, I want that."
Tonks actually claps her hands, a little, in excitement.

"There is a specific 'them', then?"

Date: 2006-02-18 03:16 am (UTC)It is not so very much time later that Raven is tapping his chin with a writing implement and pondering how best to phrase his request.
The finished product looks much like this:
It would be an interesting thing, I think, for eyeballs to make noise. Possibly there should be singing. And exploding. It is a thing
ravensbirdschildren are very fond of. And sugar is a thing that can only help.It is important, perhaps, and useful. Or at least messy.
--Raven
Who, after all, could refuse a request like that. Seriously.

"...So to speak."

"You have preferences? I am not so well acquainted with these things, perhaps."

He pokes at a package of Every Flavour Beans.
It fails to bite him.
Huh.
