It's quiet enough, for the Tonks-Wrangle flat; the kids are both napping, though that could change at any second, Bernard's sorting laundry, and 'Dora's working on the dishes.

...Yeah, they totally need something to break up the quiet, wouldn't you say?

Knock knock knock! The front door says.





May be it's a landshark.

Had the offer of a mammogram been made, no way would she have opened the door.

But! It seems safe.

"...Fleur! Wotcher. C'mon in."

'Dora grins, drying her hands off on her jeans.

"Tonks!" She latches onto Tonks' shirt collar.

Her giant handbag makes a crinkling sound.

"You have to--" She spies Bernard. "'ELLO BERNARD! CA VA?!" She is suddenly cool, calm, and collected! "I STEAL YOUR WIFE, OUI?!" All without yelling to prevent the waking of little, tiny feet!

And she grabs Tonks' hands and dashes into the bathroom with her. The door clicks.

Tonks blinks.

There is much blinking.

"Er. Hi? Why're we in the loo, Fleur?"

"SHHHHH!"

She is perched on the toilet and clutching her bag.




"I am three weekz late!" She squeaks out.

"Oh."

A somewhat lengthy pause.

Then it clicks.

"Oh."

"Oui! OH! What do I do?!"

"Um. Um. Well, fuck me in the ear, Fleur, I had to be told by an angel I was sodding pregnant, I've never--"

Deep breaths, Tonks.

"Well, I mean. First things first. Have you done a-- a test, or whatever?"

"Well, oui! I mean, no! I mean, you had one! You know what to--right?!"

And she upturns her bag in the bathtub. A whole pharmacy of pregnancy tests and different witch's tests coming tumbling out.

"I. I waz not sure what waz best. So I thought..."

She looks so lost.

"You pick first? You had one!" Oh, the logic!

Suddenly!

A knock on the door!

"...Uh. Are you two okay?"

Fleur dives into the tub and snatches the curtain shut.

"WE ARE FINE!!! --DO NOT COME IN. WE ARE. ER. NAKED!"

'Dora trips over the bathmat and opens the door a crack, smiling winningly at her husband. "Hi! Please go away."

He eyes her.

"You're not naked."

There is... an air of disappointment about him.

"...No. Better luck next time, I'm afraid," she replies with somewhat manic cheer. "Shoo."

"OUI! YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO YOUR WIFE! SHE IZ VERY WISE AND CAN DENY YOU BREASTZ!!" says Fleur from the behind the shower curtain.

She is trying hide behind one of the larger duckies in the pattern.

Bernard blinks and wanders off, confused, and Tonks snaps the door shut.

"Right. Okay. Let's, um."

She pulls back the shower curtain.

"This one."

Tonks picks one at random, and hands it to Fleur.

Lucky pick! It's muggle!

"Oui."

She breaks open the box and dumps it on the floor. Cue witches searching for directions.

"It sayz: slide plaz-tec window over tab and insert in--" She glares at the directions. "Ew!" She pushes the stick at Tonks. "You do it!"

Logic? Where?

"...Fleur."

Very firmly, Tonks pushes it back at her.

"This one really requires your, um. Input."

"Ewwwwww." That's what Fleur thinks. "Look, um. Some place! I get stage fright!"

She fights her way out of the tub and prepares herself for this...torture!

"You'll be fine, she promises, looking askance at the test, and backing towards the door. "I'll just wait in the hall, shall I?"

"DO NOT TELL BERNARD!!!!" She tells the door.

"I won't!" she hisses back through the crack in the door before letting it snap shut.

Then she leans against it, drumming her fingers impatiently against the door frame.

"--you can come in?"

Fleur is seated on the toilet again with the directions. She was kind enough to put the stupid muggle wand as far away from every toothbrush she could see.

"Right. Right." 'Dora wrings her hands a bit, nervous, and sits on the counter. "How long have we got to wait?"

And there is a knock on the front door as Tom walks into the living room.

"Hullo, anyone home? I brought some cinnamon buns from this brilliant bakery I found in the Underside - they're fresh from the oven."
